Villagers angry as mystery continues over who is damaging their parked cars

Maldon and Burnham Standard: Chris Rowlands with his damaged van Chris Rowlands with his damaged van

Car owners in a village street are still having their cars mysteriously damaged.

Lorries are thought to be to blame for the ripping bumpers off and smashing headlights and wing mirrors in North Street, Southminster.

The Standard reported in April how residents were baffled and angry with the damage being caused to their cars.

Chris Rowlands was frustrated to find his work van had been hit again last Tuesday afternoon, having already had cars written off because of the same problem.

The parking in North Street is shocking, infact the parking in the whole of southminster is shocking, parking on double yellow lines, corners, pavements, blocking entrances to streets and private driveways.

I have seen Fire engines and ambulances struggle to get along North Street due to inconsiderate parking.

Am surprised it does not happen more often.
