Network Rail is considering replacing the manually operated gates in Chestnut Close
A level crossing could be replaced for safety reasons.
There have been two reported incidents in the last 12 months at the Clears pedestrian crossing in Chestnut Close, Burnham - one near miss and one incident of misuse.
Pedestrians currently have to manually operate the gates to cross the rail track.
Network Rail is looking into the feasibility of constructing a ramped bridge.
