A stockbroker who was seriously injured in a motorbike crash a year ago is gradually on the mend.

Martin Dingli fractured his ribs, collar bone, lower spine and femur when his bike suddenly lost grip in Maldon Road, near Tillingham, and he crashed into a telegraph pole at an estimated 40mph.

He needed surgery including a blood transfusion and rod through the length of his thigh bone.

Martin, 51, spent 13 days recovering in Colchester General Hospital and described the paramedics from the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance who came to his rescue as his “guardian angels.”
