Burnham: Brownstock nominated for two national festival awards
A family-run festival in Stow Maries has been nominated for two prestigious national awards.
Brownstock Festival, based at Morris Farm, in Lower Burnham Road, now draws in global stars but started out as little more than a family get-together in 2005.
The festival has been nominated as The Best Small Festival and The Best Grassroots Festival in the UK festival awards - the only festival in Essex to be put forward in the two categories.
Revellers and residents can now vote for Brownstock to win the awards until November 1 and winners will be announced on December 2.
Festival director Adam Brown said: “To be nominated for not one but two awards is incredibly exciting for us as festival organisers, but also it’s so exciting for Essex to have an event that is being recognised countrywide."
