Heybridge: Police target quiet street to stamp out anti-social behaviour
Police have targeted a quiet secluded street in Heybridge as a priority area to stamp out anti-social behaviour.
Freshwater Crescent, situated on the banks of the Chelmer and Blackwater canal, is currently under the police radar after they received reports of youths gathering on the bridge and taking drugs.
Police are continuing to investigate the problem by carrying out patrols and advising residents to contact police should they see any suspicious activity.
But those living in and near the street have been left baffled as to why it has been targeted, when they believe the neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful.
Optician Wendy Williams, 56, of nearby Hall Bridge Rise, said: “I really don’t know what they are talking about, it’s fine here."
