Burnham: Stroke survivor runs races for sports charity
A stroke survivor has embarked on gruelling races to raise money for disabled children.
Electrician Steve Barringer, 46, of Fernlea Road, Burnham, ran the Great North Run on Sunday and is facing a marathon in Berlin on September 29 in aid of sports charity Get Kids Going!
The dad-of-three began competing in races after he suffered from a stroke six years ago at work, which left him paralysed down one side of his body.
Fortunately Mr Barringer has made a full recovery but said the shock has given him a new lease of life.
