Burnham: Mayland lad is one of the youngest to receive HGV licence
A teenage construction worker has become one of the youngest people in the country to get his heavy goods vehicle licence.
Eighteen-year-old Mark Sullivan, of Nipsells Chase, Mayland, only picked up just two minor faults when he sat his licence test last week.
He took the test so that he could transport machinery for his family’s business based in Canvey but the licence now means he can drive any vehicle, except buses.
Two years ago he couldn’t even drive a car.
The former Ormiston Rivers Academy pupil said: “I work for my dad’s groundwork business and we often have to move big pieces of machinery so the licence is handy for me to have.”
