Maldon: Teenager praised for bid to save dying man
A Maldon teenager who performed CPR on a man found dying in an alleyway has been praised for his bravery.
Nineteen-year-old Sam Haley, of St Giles Close, was on his way to work in Chelmsford when he spotted a man in his 70s collapsed near to Cherry Garden Road last Wednesday at around 6.30am.
The former Plume School pupil rang 999, performed CPR as instructed by the phone operator and waited with the man until the ambulance arrived.
He said: “He was on the floor just laying there, I didn’t know what to do."
