Cheques and prizes were awarded to charities and competitors involved in this year’s Maldon Mud Race.
The event earlier this year attracted 300 runners, with the fastest individual man, woman and team being James Haskey-Jones, Julie Simmons and Benton Hall Golf Club.
Mud race vice-chairman Brian Farrington said more than £52,500 was raised for mainly Essex charities, including Farleigh Hospice, Little Haven Children’s Hospice and Brainwave.
This was £6,500 more than last year.
He thanked race sponsors and supporters, including Wilkin and Sons, Essex County Council, Mack Mazda and Benton Hall Golf Club.
