Maldon: Protester receives refund from police
A biker, who staged a 31-hour protest outside Maldon Police Station, has triumphed in his fight for a refund after he claimed police wrongly impounded his vehicle.
Jonathan Marsh, 42, has been offered his £160 back, which he paid to release his bike from a compound after police ordered for it to be taken away in June.
The victory comes after Mr Marsh slept overnight on a bench outside the police station last month, wearing a T-shirt with the slogan “Justice for bikers. I want my money back”.
Essex Police said he is currently being investigated for motoring offences committed in June and the paperwork is with the crown prosecution service.
