South Woodham Ferrers: Parents fundraise to adapt home for disabled son
12:00pm Monday 2nd September 2013 in Local News
A couple hope to raise £16,000 from a sponsored cycle ride to adapt their house to make it more comfortable for their disabled son.
George Nye, five, was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in December 2011.
It causes progressive muscle weakness and about 100 boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy are born in the UK each year.
His parents Barry and Tina-Jane Nye are organising a 50-mile bike ride on Sunday in a bid to raise the money they need for adaptions to their home in Finchland View, South Woodham Ferrers.
They have already raised £16,000 in the last 18 months for charity Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
Anyone wishing to take part in the cycle ride can call Tina-Jane on 07933 233021.
