Burnham: Chef hopes to compete in one of the toughest triathlons
A Burnham chef, who has only ran in 10k races, decided he needed to complete an epic challenge for charity - and has signed up for one of the world’s toughest triathlons.
Ambitious Paul King, 21, of Russet Way, has committed himself to running Ironman UK in July next year, which will see him swimming 2.4 miles in an open lake, cycling 112 miles before running a marathon.
The former St Peter’s High School pupil, who is now a chef at the same school, said he wanted to challenge himself and thought the elite endurance event in Bolton was the perfect opportunity.
He said: “I have always been into running and biking so I thought why not jump in at the deep end?"
