Maldon district: Families of tragic teenage couple vow to fight for road safety
The families of a teenage couple who died in a motorbike crash in North Fambridge have vowed to fight on for a speed limit cut.
Abbey Parker, 17, of Mayland, and Brad Cooper, 18, of South Woodham Ferrers, died when the motorcycle they were riding was involved in a collision with two tractors in Lower Burnham Road.
Abbey's mum Louise Rustman-Parker, 38, said she wanted to work with the Cooper family to reduce the speed limit and move the farm entrance.
She said: "If we can change this, then Abbey wouldn't have died in vain."
Brad's mum Donna Cooper, 44, said: "I have always been and always will be proud of Brad and feel he did everything he could to avoid the road traffic collision."
See this week's MBS for a full report on the couple's inquest.
