Neighbours say flooding in their street proves why a 75 homes should not be built behind their housing estate.
Kevin Clowser, of Pippins Road, Burnham, suffered flooding for the fifth time in nine years.
His fridge freezer, tumble dryer and sons’ computer consoles were among the items ruined by Saturday’s floods.
Water has also got in underneath laminate flooring in the dining room, causing it to buckle.
Margaret Martin, 73, of Pippins Road, dialled 999 and firefighters delivered sandbags to protect her home.
She said: “Bearing in mind the forthcoming proposed housing planned for Pippins I wished to highlight the ongoing problem of Pippin drainage.”
