Parishioners will be in fine voice to raise money for a neurological centre, where their vicar was treated for a brain tumour.
All Saints with St Peter’s Church in Maldon is hosting a concert featuring music from the All Saints choir and Funky Voices to raise money for the National Brain Appeal on September 7.
Revd Canon Stephen Carter, 57, was diagnosed with a brain tumour two years ago.
He spent seven months at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queens Square, London, which The National Brain Appeal raises money for to improve facilities and care.
Mr Carter said: “They gave me amazing care and I’m so thankful to be here and to be able to work.”
For more information about the concert, call Julie Ovenden on 01621 858803.
