Chocks away for Standard's airborne reporter
“There is a chance we may crash and die.
“If the plane lands upside down and catches fire, get the hell out of it as quickly as possible.”
These aren’t exactly the calm words of encouragement I had expected when I signed up for flying in a vintage biplane above the Maldon district.
As my pilot strapped me in to the Stampe SV4C, built in 1948 and made out of wood and paper, I admit I was having some serious second thoughts.
