Maldon: Ambulance service flags up risky addresses
3:00pm Friday 9th August 2013 in Local News
Eight homes in Maldon and Burnham have been “flagged” by the ambulance service because of fears for the safety of paramedics.
The East of England Ambulance Service said crews need to take extra precautions at one address in Burnham and seven in Maldon.
A spokesman said: “Reasons for flagging addresses have been that our staff have been abused both physically and mentally or if there are weapons at an address.
“Future advice may stress that police must be at the scene first or that it is not suitable for a single paramedic to attend alone.
“These measures are in place to protect our staff against potential abusive behaviour."
