Overhead line problems in the Clacton area are causing delays and cancellations to trains at Braintree and Witham stations.

More on that road accident in Witham Road, Wickham Bishops, just before 7am today. Thankfully there were no injuries.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "Officers attended and found that a Skoda Octavia and a Volkswagen Jetta had been in collision but that no-one was injured.
"A passing motorist in a Land Rover assisted in moving one of the vehicles to the side of the road as it had suffered wheel damage and the road was fully clear at 8.10am."

The latest forecast from the Essex Weather Centre suggests snow will continue throughout today, becoming lighter overnight and dying out by tomorrow morning. Temperatures will remain close to freezing throughout the weekend.

The weather has affected today's sporting fixtures. Braintree Town's home match against Alfreton has been postponed. Witham Town and Heybridge Swifts have also had home matches today called off.
A pitch inspection is taking place at 10.30am for Maldon and Tiptree's match away to Brentwood.

Essex Police has advised motorists to only travel if necessary today.
As of 10am, there had been 12 road accidents reported to police in the county since midnight, although most of them are not believed to have been weather-related.
A spokesman said: "However further snow is expected today and conditions may deteriorate so police would advise motorists to only travel if necessary."

You can thank the Labor Government in Australia for this. The prime minister, Julia Gillard introduced a $A23 per tonne carbon tax to reduce global warming. It has closed thousands of factories & has cost countless thousands of workers their jobs, but at least it's working, England is getting colder!
