Burnham: Police finish searching land for missing Anthony Mayer Burnham: Police finish searching land for missing Anthony Mayer

Police officers have decided to stop searching for missing Burnham man Anthony Mayer after exhaustive searches of the local area.

Former Plume School pupil Mr Mayer, 35, of Station Road, has not been seen since March 7.

He is known to suffer from depression and there have been growing fears for his welfare, especially with the recent bad weather.

A police spokesperson said: "Essex Police officers are following up some possible sightings of Mr Mayer.

"Police have completed their current searches of the marshes to the east of Burnham on the Dengie peninsular without finding any trace of Mr Mayer.

"They are now trying to trace friends who may have spoken to him recently to get any idea of where he may be."

Anyone with information on Mr Mayer's whereabouts should call Essex Police on 101.
