Maldon District: Crime update

A 56-year-old in Southminster has been arrested and charged with production of Cannabis. Police found 41 plants in the loft of the property in Coombe Road last Wednesday.
Crooks made off with a metal bed frame that had been left in a garden. The frame was pinched from the garden in Lawlinge Road and put into the back of a white transit van. The item, valued at £20, was taken on Friday.
A car was stolen from Mill Road, Tillingham. The vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux Pick up, registration H135 AMV, was pinched at around 5pm on Friday. The vehicle is valued at £5000 and was taken from the driveway of a property.
An engine and seating unit was taken from an unattended RIB boat at Royal Burnham Yacht Club. The theft from the rigid inflatable boat, happened between March 8 and 15. The value of the items taken is unknown. A Mariner outboard engine, valued at £2000, was also removed from North Fambridge Yacht Cub between March 3 and 17.
Scrap metal was taken from a skip on Maldon High Street. The metal, which was in a skip outside Poundstretcher, was seen being put into a dull red transit van. The estimated value of the scrap, which was taken at 6.23pm on Thursday, is £100.
An unattended clutch bag was taken from the OAKhouse bar on Maldon High Street. The theft occurred on Saturday evening at around 10pm. The overall value of the bag, which contained keys, cash and a Samsung Galaxy S3 mobile phone, is £532. Police have said that enquiries are ongoing and are urging anybody who finds the phone to hand it into Police.
