Tillingham: Be aware of scam

Sheila Welham is urging people to be aware of the scam.
A Tillingham woman is urging people to be aware of a new phone scam.
Sheila Welham, who is clerk to Tillingham Parish Council, was targeted by scammers who claimed to be from the ‘data department’ of the telephone preference call service.
The con-men told Mrs Welham that she was registered with the telephone preference service which stops marketing calls and informed her that she would have to pay to continue the service.
