A teenager from the Maldon area has been charged with causing death by careless driving after the death of a motorcyclist in Latchingdon.

Michael Marshall, better known as Mick, of Fambridge Road, Maldon, died after his beloved Honda Fireblade was involved in a collision with a blue Vauxhall Corsa in Burnham Road shortly after midday on June 28.

Mr Marshall, 60, who had lived in the town his entire life, was certified dead at the scene.

The 18-year-old was arrested at the scene and has now been charged with one count of causing death by careless driving.

He has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on April 4.
