Although Beyoncé turned down the offer to come to Maldon Carnival, the next best thing could appear in Burnham.
Burnham carnival organisers have announced they are holding a Beyoncé lookalike competition, as a tribute to Maldon’s efforts to bag the superstar.
Members of the Maldon Carnival Association had hoped to attract the global singing sensation to their event in August, a fortnight before she is due to headline the V Festival in Chelmsford.
