The parents of a missing man from Burnham have made a desperate plea for him to get in touch.

Growing fears over the welfare of Anthony Mayer, of Station Road, has prompted a widespread police search of the Dengie.

Unemployed Mr Mayer, 35, was last seen on Thursday.

His family is very concerned for him as he is known to be depressed.

They said: “Anthony, if you hear or read this message, we would like you to get in touch with someone to let us know you are OK, your mum and dad are both very worried about you.”
