Maldon: Musician owes success to Maldon district

A singer-songwriter, who says his creativity is down to living in the Maldon district, is releasing his first single next week.

Kieran Skye, 23, who lives off Back Road in Tolleshunt D’Arcy, was signed by an independent label a couple of months ago and has since then been promoting his first single Rule The World.

The videos of his single have been viewed over 100,000 times on YouTube and he is now preparing to tour the UK and Ireland in the summer.

Mr Skye, who studied music at Plume School and performed in the school’s productions of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and West Side Story, first started writing lyrics from his bedroom.

But after auditioning in London and gaining recognition from 89 Arrogance recordings, his career has taken off.
