Maldon: Air raid shelter to be demolished
5:00pm Saturday 9th March 2013 in Local News
A Second World War air raid shelter in Maldon could soon be demolished.
Plans to tear down the shelter, which is in Church House on the High Street, have been put forward by Mark Salisbury.
The bricks and cast concrete unit, which is attached to a Grade II listed building, is currently used as a utility room.
Mr Salisbury, who wants to create a paved area on the site of the shelter, said that the “flat roof is not inkeeping with the rest of the building.”
