Chelmsford: Police appeal after robbery
Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Chelmsford.
A man was making a delivery of parcels in Avon Road when he noticed a white vehicle draw up alongside him.
The victim tried to close the door of his white Ford transit van when he was approached from behind and hit on the arm.
The suspects stole various packages containing mobile phones.
The suspect is described as a white man, very tall and very skinny, wearing dark jeans and a dark jacket.
Following the robbery between 7pm and 7.10pm on Monday, February 18, investigating officer, Pc Jennifer Mclean said: "The victim was approached by a member of public, a man, who informed him that he had witnessed the incident and kindly wrote down his details.
"Unfortunately, due to the victim being shaken up he has since lost the witness details.
"I am appealing for this kind man to contact me. I would also like to appeal to anyone else who was in the area or driving past at the time to get in contact.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Pc Jennifer Mclean on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
