Maldon: Waterside scheme clears final hurdle Maldon: Waterside scheme clears final hurdle

A controversial riverside development in Maldon has been given final approval after lanscaping matters were finalised.

District councillors gave the go-ahead for landscaping at the Sadds Wharf site in Station Road at a committee meeting on Wednesday.

Work is now set to begin on the multi-million pound development, which will include 93 homes, as well as office and leisure facilities built on the five-acre site on the water front.

Outline plans for the mixed use development were approved by a Government inspector in 2009.

More specific elements of the proposals, including its appearance, scale and landscaping, were unanimously refused by Maldon District Council’s central area planning committee in February.
