South Woodham Ferrers: House fire dealt with

Fire crews had to wear breathing apparatus to tackle a fire in a large detached house today.

Crews were alerted after smoke alarms were triggered in a property in Broughton Road.

Firefighters arriving at the scene reported that the whole of the house was heavily smoke logged.

The fire was put out just before 3.30pm and there were no casualties.

A high pressure fan was used to clear the property of smoke and an investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
