Maldon: Skater devastated after car splits board in two
A 17-year-old Maldon lad has been left devastated after a car ran over his beloved skateboard, splitting it in two.
Plume College student Callum Kirwan, of Queens Street, was riding his Mindless Marauder long board in Hall Road in Heybridge on Sunday night when it slid into the road after hitting a rock.
The board rolled in front of a dark Ford Fiesta which drove straight over it, breaking it completely.
Callum, who rides the board every day and is now without a hobby this half term, said: “The car was far enough away to see it.
“I put my hands up and shouted at them to stop but I guess they didn’t hear me."
