A concerned family are campaigning for a crossing after a little girl needed 20 stitches in her head after being hit by a car.

Five-year-old Katie Barker ran out of a shop and into the road, where she was clipped by a car, causing her to smash her head on the ground and suffer a gash down to her skull.

Her aunt Jodie Barker, of Queenborough Road, Southminster, was coming out of the Nisa Local store with Katie when the accident happened last Wednesday between 5.30pm - 6pm in North Street, Southminster.
