Maldon District: We need wheels to find work

Maldon District: We need wheels to find work Maldon District: We need wheels to find work

Maldon district residents are calling for a free transport scheme to help people get to work or college.

Under the Wheels to Work initiative, mopeds and scooters are lent to young people in rural areas who find it hard to get to either education or employment, due to a lack of public transport.

The vehicles are available for a three to 12-month period in return for monthly payments of £120.

Wheels to Work is a national initiative, with 24 schemes across the UK.

There is, however, only one scheme in Essex currently, which is in Uttlesford.
