Crime in Burnham has risen to an 11-month high with incidents in Maldon also rising considerably, according to the latest statistics.

The most up-to-date figures on the Home Office crime map records revealed overall crime in Burnham town centre has leapt by more than 40 per cent.

Vehicle crime and violent crime both rose in the month but anti-social behaviour dropped from 22 incidents in November to 17 in December.

But the number of incidents relating to criminal damage and arson almost quadrupled, with seven incidents appearing in Lilian Road.

Anti-social behaviour dropped from 22 incidents to 17.

This is the first time Burnham had so much crime since March last year.
