Heybridge: Hundreds raised for Kelly funeral
Hundreds of pounds have been raised for the funeral of a community-spirited young woman.
More than 50 people took part in a sponsored walk on Saturday to raise cash for the funeral of Kelly Challis, 25, of Hadrians Way, Heybridge.
The walk, from Kelly’s address to Maldon’s Promenade and back, was followed by a cake sale, headshave and lantern release.
In total, it is hoped that as much as £500 will have been raised from the day, which will be added to the £625 raised through the Kelly Challis Memorial Fund, set up on the gofundme.com site by Kelly’s friend Lorraine Hastings.
