Southminster: Give us cash bonus before building 113 homes
1:00pm Friday 15th February 2013 in Local News
Land earmarked for new homes.
Controversial plans for 113 new homes in Southminster have been deferred amid concerns over the village’s lack of financial gain from developers.
On Monday evening, Robin Levy Associates and Chelmer Housing Partnership sought approval for outline planning permission from Maldon District Council’s South Eastern Area Planning Committee.
The developers are looking to build as many as 113 homes on 3.64 hectare field on the south western edge of Southminster, next to Southfield Way.
Following the meeting, councillor Brian Beale said: “All we get is more houses being built in Southminster and the village doesn’t get anything back."
