River Blackwater/Crouch: Coastguards kept busy this weekend River Blackwater/Crouch: Coastguards kept busy this weekend

Coastguards were kept busy after a boat broke down and another sank yesterday.

Wallasea Island’s Essex Marina called the Thames Coastguard for help after a 35ft motor boat, Boudicca, broke down off Burnham in the River Crouch shortly before 9am.

The boot was towed to Essex Marina by the police marine unit.

Three hours later, South Woodham Ferrers Coastguard was sent out following reports of a sinking yacht off St Lawrence Bay.

The coastguard was able to confirm the yacht had sunk on its moorings and the owner, who was aware of the situation, was making arrangments to recover the boat.

"The boot was towed to Essex Marina by the police marine unit."

Great proof reading as usual.

Was it left boot or right boot? What happened to the other boot?

Nothing like putting the boot in over a simple typo, but each to their own, whatever floats your boot.
