A secondhand dealer has hit back at claims he has left Burnham residents out of pocket.

Twenty-three-year-old trader Shaun, who refused to give his last name to The Standard, opened Tylers, in the town’s Station Road in September, but shut up shop just before Christmas.

He left dozens of residents in uproar after they left goods in the shop in the hope he could sell them with commission.

But Shaun, whose son’s name is Tyler, has claimed he left a note in the shop window telling people where to contact him.

He said: “There should have been a sign up in the window but I haven’t been there to check.

“I am quite annoyed actually because everyone has my number on their receipts, they could have rang me.

“Everyone’s stuff is still inside.”
