Heybridge: Weight loss leads to a marriage proposal
A dieter made a Heybridge Slimming World meeting one of the most memorable yet - by getting down on one knee.
Fire Station officer Russel Harmer, 48, proposed to long-term partner Samantha Deacon after losing over two stone together.
The couple, who have been together for over six years, were picked by other slimmers to battle it out in the group’s Couple of the Year competition in Plantation Hall last Monday.
The inspirational duo, who were up against mum and daughter Wendy Westwood and Gwen Campion and sisters Hayley & Abby Miller, stole the show with the surprise romantic gesture.
