Maldon: Cars and properties damaged by hazardous road crater

Could this be the most troublesome pothole in Maldon?

The crack, located in Mill Road, is so big it not only forces cars to swerve around it but also causes houses to shudder when vehicles drive over it.

Residents living nearby are now calling for action and are urging the council to repair it as soon as possible.

Kenneth Hobbs, 48, of Mill Road, said the vibrations even wake him up at night.

He said: “We have a couple of chimes in the bedroom upstairs and you can hear it shake them.

“It’s enough to wake you up.

“It’s a very sizeable hole and we get tonnes of cyclists on this road. It’s an accident waiting to happen, especially at night.”
