Feeling those January blues?
As the most depressing time of the year hits, the Big Lottery Fund is urging the district’s residents to spread some cheer by volunteering at a local community group or charity.
Sarah Laskar, coordinator at the Maldon and District Council for Voluntary Service, said: “We have over 150 organisations on our database which are looking for volunteers with skills ranging from admin to young carers support.
“Our volunteering project is specifically for people recovering from mental ill health to get involved with the community and help to increase their confidence, skills and social contacts.”
