Scientists are hoping to find the answer to the crisis of climate change - on Tillingham Marshes.

The academics are braving sub-zero temperatures to carry out a range of studies investigating the increasing demands placed upon nature by the planet’s growing population.

The group, including scientists from the University of Essex, are spending two weeks on salt marshes looking at natural systems.

They will study their role in the purification of water, the production of food and the protection of coastlines.
