St Lawrence: Volunteers wanted for beach clean

St Lawrence: Volunteers wanted for beach clean St Lawrence: Volunteers wanted for beach clean

Volunteers are needed for a beach clean at St Lawrence Bay on Tuesday.

The event will run from 11am until 3pm with volunteers meeting outside the Stone Inn.

Volunteers won’t need any special skills to join the beach clean other than plenty of enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.

Any children under 16 years old will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Emma Webb, Essex Coastal Wardens Project Officer, said: “Litter is a huge problem along our coasts, it doesn’t just look unpleasant, it can harm and even kill some of our best-loved marine wildlife including seabirds, turtles and whales who have mistaken marine litter for food and actually eaten it."

Volunteers need to book onto the event, which can be done by contacting Emma on 01206 764470 / 07920 335987 or via email at e.webb@tcv.org.uk.

Hot drinks will be available, but you are recommended to bring some lunch with you.
