Braintree, Maldon and Chelmsford: Man fighting for life after crash on A12
A 53-year-old motorcyclist has been left fighting for his life after a crash on the A12.
The accident happened after a Honda motorbike collided with a Ford Fiesta at the Boreham Interchange near Chelmsford at around 9.55 last night.
The biker, from Latchingdon was taken to Addenbrooks Hospital in Cambridge with serious injured and is in a critical condition.
The car driver, a woman from the Braintree area was treated for shock but was uninjured.
The southbound carriageway of the A12 sliproad at the Boreham Interchange was closed for around five hours while accident investigation work took place.
Police said the opening was delayed for longer than usual because freezing temperatures meant the road had to be gritted.
