Thieves have stolen hundreds of pounds worth of takings and stock from a Maldon charity shop.
Burglars raided the Cancer Research UK charity shop in the High Street just days before Christmas, taking DVD’s, hundreds of pounds worth of jewellery and charity boxes.
Manager Christine Boyers, 61, discovered the break-in when she opened the shop on Christmas Eve.
She estimates that more than £1,000 worth of money and stock was stolen and about £2,000 worth of damage was caused.
She said: “It’s such a pity."
