Gay Maldon businessman Barrie Drewitt-Barlow has mounted a legal challenge against the Government after it was announced same-sex marriage would remain illegal in the Church of England.
Barrie, 42, who has been in a civil partnership with Tony Drewitt-Barlow since 2006, has been left disgusted by the plans to legalise same-sex marriage in the UK but ban it in particular churches.
The father of five has said the legislation will result in discrimination against them.
He said: “There’s no way I am having this."
