Children are invited to help solve the Moat Farm Murder at Essex Police Museum in Chelmsford.

On January 12, from 10am to 4pm, visitors can take part in this special trail.

Hidden around the museum are clues which can be arranged together like a puzzle to find out 'who dunnit'.

Curator Becky Wash says: "It sounds a bit gruesome but it’s actually lots of fun to search around the museum collecting evidence cards which can be put together to solve the case!”

The Moat Farm Murder was a real crime that took place in 1899 in Clavering, Essex.

Exhibits from the case including the victim’s shoes; uncovered from the ground, are on display.

The activity costs £1 for each child taking part and is suitable for children aged 6+, but children and adults of all ages are welcome to visit the museum, which is free. Booking is not required.
