Maldon District: Floods trap people out of homes
12:33pm Monday 31st December 2012 in Local News By Emma Robinson
Flooding in Ferry Road, Creeksea
Heavy rainfall has caused flooding chaos in the Maldon District, with some people trapped out of their homes.
Severe downpours meant roads across the district were flooded and some deemed impassable, sparking travel problems.
Businessman Chris Fugeman, who owns Marts Parts in Devonshire Road, could not get to his house last week after Ferry Road in Creeksea was flooded for the second time in a month.
He said: “We got flooded yet again.
“Just before Christmas it was quite comical. My neighbours do turkeys and people were coming to collect them.
“They had to row them across the water on a rowing boat.”
