Essex: Wrap up your pipes this winter
A water company is urging residents to wrap up their pipes this winter.
Anglian Water is reminding people to insulate water pipes to prevent bursts and leaks if they freeze.
The company said it often received calls for help when domestic pipes burst and it was difficult to help as water firms are not responsible for supplies within the home.
It also said a programme of winter preparations on its own pipes, including refurbishing heating systems and lagging pipes, costing more than half a million pounds was well underway.
