Land Rovers appear to be the current vehicle of choice for thieves, according to police.

A warning has been issued after a £5,000 Land Rover Defender was stolen in Great Totham.

The blue Defender, with a personalised 37121W registration plate, was taken from Maldon Road between 9pm on Sunday and 10am on Monday.

Police are warning owners of Land Rover Defenders to be extra vigilant.

Sargeant Perry Land said: “In the last month in the Maldon district we have had three Land Rover Defenders stolen from Tollesbury, Great Totham and Southminster.

“We have recovered one and no arrests have been made.

“I want people to be aware that Land Rover Defenders appear to be appealing to thieves at the moment.”

Anyone with information should contact Maldon Police on 101.
