A grandad is considering moving from his home in Burnham after aeroplanes above his road have made living there unbearable.

The 78-year-old Pippins Road resident, who asked not to be named, voiced his annoyance of noise and lack of privacy at Thursday’s Burnham Town Council meeting.

He claimed planes from Southend airport go over his house constantly every day, often much lower than the required height.

He said: “All the planes seem to congregate over my house, they often go by every 10 minutes.

“It does affect my quality of life.

“We have been here 28 years or so and never wanted to move but now I feel like it might have to happen.

“My wife gets woken up in the morning and the planes sometimes come so low it affects our privacy.

“People can look out the window right into our garden.”
